Global Data Synchronisation: Get On-Board! - Seminar 6th December 2011

Global Data Synchronisation: Get On-Board!

GS1 Certified Solution Looks like 2012 is going to be the year for GDS in the UK and those with the leanest supply chain and the most efficient means to execute their business processes will gain a significant advantage. To make this happen, manufacturers, retailers, distributors, food service providers and healthcare organisations need a more efficient manner by which to share product data and collaborate via electronic commerce. This goal is the purpose of the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) – a standards-based initiative designed to resolve product data inaccuracies and automate data sharing across the supply chain.

The statistics speak for themselves:  In the past 3 months alone 600,000 new GTINs have been registered on the network and there are now nearly 20,000 companies world-wide participating in GDS.

How are these companies benefiting?

  • Improved on-shelf availability
  • Improved levels of customer service
  • Less shrinkage
  • More efficient accounting processes
  • Reduced logistics costs
